The South Florida Karting Club started in 2016 as an organization that promotes the sport of karting in South Florida by increasing the ability for drivers, tracks, race promoters and manufacturers to effectively communicate with each other.

We are building the sport using the very cost effective Briggs & Stratton L0206 engine program. We host arrive & drive and karting schools days at AMR Motorplex at the Homestead Miami Speedway.

In 2017 we hosted the SoFloKC Cup with 6 races and saw over 100 different drivers participate.

In 2018, we had even more growth in the number of drivers and we added both Cadet and Junior classes to compete along with our Senior and Heavy classes. Our growth influenced the National organization SKUSA to include a Briggs class in their Florida Winter Series in 2018 and 2019.

2019 saw much momentum with full grids in all four Briggs classes and a trickle down into two stroke classes as well.

2020 was a very limited schedule due to Covid, but still we saw large grids in all categories.

2021 has been our biggest year with total kart counts at AMR Motorplex getting over the 100 entries mark.

2022 to current, we have maintained our status as a great option for an introduction into karting. We continue to support the Briggs LO206 program and highly recommend it as a great beginner program for all ages and skill levels

Our ultimate goal is to continue to promote karting and to see Florida strengthen it’s position as a leader in karting and motorsports.
